HUSBAND WHO REPORTED WIFE MISSING, ARRESTED AFTER HER SEVERED HEAD WAS FOUND

A 40-year-old man from Montreuil, Paris, was arrested for killing his wife and cutting her body into pieces, before discarding her dismembered body parts in a park, according to The Sun

He had originally reported his wife to the police as missing on 6 February, one week after posting about her disappearance online.

He was subsequently arrested and detained by the French police on Thursday morning.

Park workers discovered the deceased’s body parts, including her torso and thighs inside a plastic bag on 13 February, at the Buttes-Chaumont park in north-east Paris.

The woman’s head was later found during a search the next day, and the victim was identified through her fingerprints.

A probe was then opened by the French police on 17 February for murder, tampering and concealing a corpse.

The police found inconsistencies in the husband’s story and started to grow suspicious of him; he had claimed that his wife went out on the night of 30-31 January, but they couldn’t find any evidence of it from their building’s CCTV footage.

The police also couldn’t confirm the husband’s story that he was searching for his wife in different places around Paris.
