It was announced back in January 2023 that Singaporeans travelling to Malaysia will finally be able to use the Auto gate.
But it seems like the system that was implemented had a few major issues and resulted in even worse congestion for both Singaporeans travelling to Malaysia and Malaysians returning home.
Things to take note
A number of Singaporeans were stuck and unable to pass through the Auto gates as they did not register for the arrival card and ended up adding more congestion to the line.
A netizen pointed out that the process for using the Auto immigration clearance gate is not as straightforward as it seems.
Every time you want to go to Malaysia via land, air or sea you will need to register before using the gate. Meaning if you were to go to Malaysia every week you will need to register every single week. (Or everyday)
