The woman had misplaced her purse and returned to the food court to find it but to no avail, and after reviewing CCTV footage, a man was seen taking her green-coloured wallet that was left on the table.

A police report has since been lodged by the woman.

The incident purportedly happened on 9 March at about 11.20am, when the woman who lost her purse, returned after about 5 minutes to find it.

In the CCTV footage, an uncle wearing white and carrying a sling bag was seen eating his meal as the woman’s bag lay resting on the table.

The man then started looking around to see if anyone was looking, and hurried to take a few more bites from his plate before slipping the wallet into his bag.

He then hurriedly left the scene with his loot in tow.

The woman was heard in the video telling the staff, who was showing her the CCTV footage, to record the video for her to give to the police.

The staff also commented that the uncle seemed to be aware that the woman was looking for her missing wallet that was left on his table.

Here is what the woman said

“I lost a wallet at Jurong west central Boon Lay mall at 11.20am on 09/03/2023 and was picked up by this man. I came back to look for my wallet after five minutes.
