A Malaysia registered lorry attempted to smuggle illegal vaporiser refill pods into Singapore and was foiled by ICA officers on 28 March.
The lorry was entering Singapore via the Tuas Checkpoint and was profiled by ICA officers for enhanced checks, and they were subsequently found with 70,200 vaporiser refill pods of assorted flavours that were hidden inside a consignment of mineral water.
The case has since been referred to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for follow up investigations.

In the early morning hours of 28 March, ICA officers at Tuas Checkpoint foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of e-vaporiser refill pods into Singapore.
A Malaysia-registered lorry was profiled for enhanced checks and officers found multiple cartons of e-vaporiser refill pods hidden within the consignment of mineral water. Subsequent checks uncovered a total of 70,200 pieces of assorted flavours of e-vaporiser refill pods.
The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigation.
