A video emerged online on the ROADS.sg Facebook page showing an errant motorcyclist using his phone while riding on the expressway, while his companion was riding pillion dangerously without a helmet on.
The incident purportedly took place on Tuesday (4 April) at about 6.15 pm, along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) heading towards Changi Airport.
In the video, the motorcyclist could be seen visibly holding onto his phone on one hand, with his other hand holding on to his motorcycle’s handle; his pillion rider was also seen sitting behind him without a motorcycle helmet on.
He then raised his hand to try and cover his face, while his pillion rider tried to hide her face behind the rider’s left shoulder.
They were pursued by another motorist on the road, who was filming them throughout the video and gesturing at them.
While riding on the road, he could be seen raising his phone up to use it while riding on the expressway, as the cam-bike continued pursuing them and filming them.
Netizens online were quick to criticise the errant motorcyclist and helmet-less pillion rider, as well as the other motorcyclist who was filming them.
They pointed out that the motorcyclist who was filming them was essentially doing the same thing, using his phone to film them while riding on the road as well.

- I also saw a driver trying hard to intimidate a rider, causing the distressed rider to ride further recklessly than he already had.
- Cam rider so busybody, nearly cause them to have accident by talking and catching up to them. Let police or LTA handle the situation! Dunt need people to step as if they are the law!
