Facebook user Christina Koh shared in a post that she made a booking for a RYDE ride, with the waiting time being stated at 2 minutes.
She then received a notification about the driver’s arrival and she then proceeded to message and call the driver, who then told her that he was somewhere else and will be driving over shortly.
Koh then told him that she would wait for him at the pick up point, but later received a message from the platform that the driver had cancelled the booking, and she ended up being charged $5.30 for the cancellation that was made by the driver.

When my booking is confirmed via RYDE, the waiting time is 2 mins. When I received driver arrival notification, I msg n called driver. He was in somewhere else and told me that he will drive over.
I told him that I will wait for him at the pick up point. After a while, I received sms from RYDE that driver has cancelled my booking. I have to make another booking.
In the end, I was charged $5.30 for cancellation that make by driver Eddie. WHY am I charged for something that was not done by me???? I feedback in RYDE app and also emailed, there is no response from RYDE!!!

Facebook user 벨라김 said that she had booked a Grab ride and while waiting for the vehicle, the Grab driver allegedly messaged her and said that he was having an “app glitch” before asking her to cancel the booking.
She then told him that if she cancel, she would need to pay the cancellation fee; to which the driver then told her “if’s okay if you don’t want to cancel, if I cancel you will have to pay, your choice”.
After a while, the driver said “ok never mind I will cancel,” but after a while 벨라김 noticed that the driver hadn’t done so and was still moving towards the pickup.
She then messaged him and called him a scammer for not cancelling.
