WOMAN STUCK @ JEWEL CARPARK, HELPLINE TOLD HER BORROW CASHCARD FROM OTHERS THEN HANG UP

Facebook user Cynthia Tan shared how she was stuck at the Basement 5 carpark gantry at Jewel.

Despite having a balance of $37.77 on her NETS Flashpay card, the gantry failed to open. Seeking a solution, she tapped her card at the nearest station, but to her dismay, the barrier remained shut.

After pressing the ‘Call’ button, she was advised by a staff member to try another exit. However, the issue persisted when she reached the alternative exit.

Desperate for assistance, she made another call only to be met with a dismissive response from the employee who suggested she purchase a Cashcard from a nearby Cheers store or borrow one from another vehicle.

In a discourteous manner, he abruptly ended the conversation, leaving the woman and her three young children stranded and frustrated.

As the parking fees continued to rise ($8.24 at the time of her Facebook post), the woman’s distress grew. She attempted to reach the 24-hour hotline, hoping for a prompt resolution but was met with disappointment as her calls went unanswered.

Here is what she said

Jewel B5 carpark @ 9.50pm

Fees: $7.88

My NETS Flashpay has $37.77 but the gantry doesn’t open. So I tap my card at the station, still doesn’t open.

So I press the ‘Call’ button and the man says go to another exit. I did, same problem.

So I call again, that guy refuse to help except telling me to go find Cheers to buy a Cashcard or borrow from another vehicle, then hang up on me.

So I call the 24-hour hotline *phone number redacted*. Nobody answer at all.

Now I am stuck with 3 small kids in the car, a long line of cars behind me and the parking fees getting more expensive ($8.24 at the time of post).

STILL NO ONE COMING TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION

*I am using the same card!

It just so happen that I didn’t bring my wallet or any spare card out today
