YISHUN MAN GOT PUNCHED BY DELIVERYMAN AFTER ASKING IF HE CAN CHECK THE PARCEL

A straightforward delivery took an unexpected turn when a 34-year-old man found himself in a heated altercation with a deliveryman right at his doorstep in Yishun where he ended up being punched by the courier, according to Shin Min Daily News.

1. A Request for Parcel Inspection Leads to Conflict

The core of the conflict revolved around the deliveryman’s refusal to allow Mr. Hong to verify the contents of the parcel before accepting it. With the intended recipient, Mr. Hong’s mother, absent from the premises, he understandably sought to ensure the accuracy of the delivery.

The story begins as the resident, 34-year-old Mr. Hong, eagerly awaited a parcel delivery to his home in Yishun. Anticipating the arrival of an important package, Mr. Hong had a simple request – to inspect the contents of the parcel upon delivery. However, this seemingly innocent desire quickly spiraled into a heated disagreement that neither party expected.

As the deliveryman arrived at Mr. Hong’s doorstep, the situation took an unexpected turn. Instead of accommodating Mr. Hong’s request to examine the parcel, the courier firmly declined, sparking frustration on both sides.

Tensions escalated as the deliveryman allegedly scolded Mr. Hong and, shockingly, resorted to physical aggression by delivering a series of punches.

In a split-second decision fueled by instinct, Mr. Hong reacted by shoving the deliveryman in an attempt to protect himself.

This act of self-defense was met with further aggression from the deliveryman, who allegedly retaliated with a series of punches aimed at Mr. Hong.

5. Police Intervention and Ongoing Investigation

In the aftermath of the confrontation, Mr. Hong took swift action by contacting the authorities. The deliveryman, upon realizing the gravity of the situation, reportedly fled the scene.

Despite the deliveryman’s departure, Mr. Hong managed to capture a photograph of the van used by the assailant.

The Singapore Police Force also confirmed the incident and said they they had received a report of an alleged assault taking place ah the venue, with a 34-year-old man being minor injured but refusing to be sent to the hospital.
