“Avoid this rude and incompetent doctor Rita who works at Yishun polyclinic.
My family member and I came across her during a clinic visit. My family member was there to get some blood tests done after previously consulting a family friend who was a doctor. To our surprise and dismay, this doctor said that the tests we wanted did not exist and cannot be done. On our further queries, she became rude and showed displeasure in us expressing doubts about her saying the tests do not exist.
She even said things like “I’ve worked in Malaysia for a long time, so I know these things.” She even questioned about the background of our doctor family friend! Before we knew it, we were shown out of the room without anything done, apart from being shown her incompetence and insolence.
We went to other clinic staff to ask for assistance and in the end saw another doctor who was more experienced. He understood what we meant and we got the tests done, in the same polyclinic!
Rita had only worked in Singapore for less than a year. Regardless of how long and where she worked previously, she should at least have the decency to look things up before claiming that some blood tests don’t exist. Her being rude and too proud to not even consider our concerns before sending us out of her room was the most appalling. A total disgrace to the medical profession. Perhaps she needs to consider upgrading her knowledge to stay updated.
I’m so glad there was the other doctor in the clinic who helped us get what we needed done.
Hopefully no one else suffers under her care in future.”
