I feel fed up staying in sg.. Do I really hv to rent a unit in Johor and travel to work everyday in order to stay comfortable? Recently I just move out from previous house bcoz the landlord increase rental. This current house owner is old lady, now I know why ppl say never rent from old people.
She has more restrictions from my previous house but I endure it all coz i wasn’t happy at previous house already. First she say just keep clean and no cooking, dry clothes inside room.. etc I’m fine with these restrictions coz her rent is way cheaper and it’s just next block from my previous house easy for me to move, even tho i used to cook a lot. Her kitchen microwave, air fryer, boil water all cannot use.
Then only decided to move in realize she got no shower heater, I accept it too coz it’s too late to change mind. She say can eat at her dining table as long as wipe the table clean. But once I wanted to use her dining table she change her mind and say cannot coz scared I didn take care properly and scratch her table when eating. Then fine I eat inside room.
My room door also got holes above the door, I covered it with soundproof foam coz i know sg house soundproof is super bad, with these holes ofcourse outside can hear noise(I’m staying with bf btw), at first she say cannot put that thing hv to take off, coz scare I cook inside room and ppl complain report police she will get penalty, I’m not that stupid and crazy to do heavy cooking inside room ok, then she say can paste as long as no cooking. But 2days later she change her mind again knock my room door and say cannot coz it’s against the law, like what
Are all old ppl like this? First say can then change mind? I’m only here for 2weeks+ and i already feel annoyed, she doesn’t know how to text so everytime she will knock my room door and disturb me and keep explaining all the same restrictions over and over again. Already tell face to face, she will still send whatsapp A LOT of voice text( if u know how old ppl send voice long and spam kind) during my work, it’s really disturbing my work coz i will feel like what did I wrong to receive so many messages then turns out it’s the same thing that already said.
I feel no privacy at all bcoz everyday hv to watch when she will come knock and say the same thing or give more restrictions that doesn’t state in contract. She is so afraid of tenant cooking inside room like I don’t hv common sense she dont even give me room key, my room feels so vulnerable with the holes and door unlocked.
And she also forgot how much she charged my rental. When I pay first month rent she was like “huh $850 only? Didn I charge u $900?” luckily got contract black and white. And also she always blame things on her son like before move in she say can come move in earlier than stated date coz she’s very easygoing person then next day tell me her son say by law cannot move in early.
The soundproof thing also, her son is actually chill with it said its ok, but when she knock my door to tell me take off she say again her son say cannot coz against the law. I’m starting to think her son never say all these she just wanna blame it on her son to make her less kiasu. Restrictions mentioned before I can comply bcoz already aware during sign contract, it’s just it’s annoying she always changed her mind and I never can expect what i can do and cannot do. Actually I hv more to rant but it’s gonna be too long essay and not to mention this all just happened within my stay in 2weeks
