A primary school teacher in Taiwan was convicted of having intercourse with one of her students on several occasions and even giving birth to his child from one of their encounters, and she was sentenced to 17.5 years imprisonment, according to The New Paper.
The teacher, a woman surnamed Xu, was found guilty by a court in Taoyuan last Thursday of 9 counts of obscene intercourse with a minor under the age of 14 years old, including 2 counts of forced intercourse that took place over a period of 4 months.
She was also banned from teaching for life.
Background
Xu was the boy’s form teacher during his 5th and 6th year at the primary school, and their illicit intercourse activities started in his final year at the school.
The boy said that the teacher would message him or tell the other teachers to hold him back after their lessons, before she asked him to meet her inside a room where she made him take off his clothes before they had intercourse.

He shared that the encounter, which was their first of many, took place inside a room where the windows were covered with posters, and although he was hesitant initially, they would go on to have unprotected intercourse inside.
The second encounter was similar and took place about a week later, and the boy said that it was “not very normal to do this with my teacher but it felt so good,” and he wanted to continue engaging in the acts with her.
According to the prosecutors in court, the boy’s testimony matched those of the witnesses that included teachers that Xu had asked to make the boy stay back after class.
The scandal came to light when the boy’s father discovered their relationship and reported it to the police, by which point the boy was already in junior high school.
Xu was subsequently suspended by her school.
Argued that boy lied
In court, Xu argued that she only had one encounter with the boy where they had intercourse, and described him as being taller and heavier than her, claiming that he was the one who forced her to have intercourse with her.
She added that in a May 2020 encounter, the boy had allegedly pushed her onto the ground and hit her head, and she lost her consciousness.
She further claimed that she didn’t know what happened at the time but she “felt paralysed,” and when she woke up, her “lower body” was bleeding and in pain and she had “realised” what the boy had “done to me”.
Xu further added that it was the “only time” she had intercourse with him and he made her pregnant, as well as accusing the boy of lying about the other intercourse sessions that they had.
Gave birth to his child
Investigators conducted DNA tests by taking samples from Xu’s child via his milk bottles and baby pacifier, and concluded that the baby was 99 percent the child of the student.
Xu was ultimately found guilty in court, with the judge ruling that she had taken advantage of her student’s desires and immature understanding of explicit romantic relationships, forcing him into obscene intercourse with her.
She was sentenced on 9 November and has about 20 days to appeal her judgement.
