Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home, located along Yishun Avenue 5, will be the first one in Singapore to have a 24 hour go-to point for dementia. Citizens can bring lost and wandering people with dementia to the location.
The nursing home also provides information on how to take care of people with dementia where they can take classes and find out on who they can look for should anything happen. Yishun is currently putting efforts in becoming a dementia-friendly community, and there are other initiatives made by Khoo Teck Phuat hospital and the Lien Foundation.
The current figure for senior citizens in Singapore suffering from dementia is one in ten, and the figures are expected to rise with time.
