Wearing a Rolex watch is commonly seen, it’s like every tom, dick and harry is wearing one.
But sometimes, there are people who are intimidated by the branded watch and call people out that it’s fake.
Here is a story:
I’ve been wearing a Rolex for 12 years.
I have been asked one time if my watch was real while out drinking at a bar. Apparently, there were a few Rolex “experts” in our group who were debating the authenticity of my watch.
I took my watch off, dropped it in a full glass of water and said “if it the second-hand stops sweeping by the time we’re done drinking, I’ll pay the tab. If it’s still sweeping, you pay the tab – deal?”
They declined but one guy asked if he could listen to my watch. I obliged. After a quick listen he decided it was real. Guess he was the expert of the group (sarcasm).
Funny to think about it but a replica would have probably kept going too. Maybe the crystal would fog from the cold water?
I also laugh sometimes because my watch is worth 1 time what my old car is worth. I wonder if people just assume my watch is a replica because of this.
Either way, I don’t care. I’ve spotted some replicas in public, but never made a comment.
Whatever makes you happy is your business.
