GIRL SAYS GUYS THAT KEEP ASKING FOR FREE THINGS IS A RED FLAG

Is it a red flag for a guy to constantly ask for free things?

This guy (who’s interested in me) keeps asking me for things for free. I feel like he’s doing it just to start a conversation, but it is such a major turn off. For example, if i’m having ice cream, he’ll say hey when are u gonna treat me to ice cream, or you wanna share that with me.

Or when I bought some socks he’ll say it’s nice and to give him a pair (so we can match).

He’s not rich, which I don’t have an issue with. But he seems to have no ambition and he keeps asking for things for free.

Is this a red flag or should I give him a chance?

Here are what netizens think:

  • Same as girls, no difference
  • i may be wrong, but it could be his way of breaking the ice and starts a conversation going. He could be the shy type and not sure of how to find ways to continue to connect with u, except in finding things connected with u to say ba. If he is really really a cheapo, he would have insisted on the items. But so far from the above, seems that he is saying everything in jest but didnt really make u do it. If u like him enough, give him more time and observe further. If not, then just drop him since u never like him from the start, it seems.
  • When guys don’t pay you call them a cheapo, then woman leh? prostitute ah.
  • I’m not really ok with the guy asking for free stuff and also not okay with him having no ambition. But if u prepare to raise him then ok la~
  • Give him a chance? He’ll want double chances cos he wants to matchy-matchy. Drop him la. Don’t even be friends cos he will continue to want things. Lol.
  • Definitely some Prince or some wealthy kid who got a Mount Everest of inheritance trying to be humble and act poor. You’re sitting on a pile of diamonds and you don’t even know it.
