GROUP OF FTs BOARD MRT, FORCE MAN TO MOVE LIKE THEY ARE ‘ENTITLED’ TO SEATS

A man sent in a story to us to complain about his recent experience on board the purple line MRT station.

He was on his way to work at Outram and had originally boarded from Sengkang MRT and gotten a seat in a pretty empty cabin.

However as he got nearer to his workplace, the cabin started to fill up a little.

He then said a group of FTs from a particular race came in to the MRT and ask him to move away so that the whole group can sit together as if they are entitled to.

Here is the story

Hi guys, I want to share a story of my recent experience taking MRT to work.

Usually my MRT Rides are pretty uneventful and whatever happened that i’m going to tell you all is nothing big to be honest but I am quite irritated about it.

I had boarded the train from Sengkang MRT and was on my way to Outram for work.

The MRT cabin was quite empty when I boarded but soon it began to fill up as the ride progressed.

At Farrer Park MRT, this group of FTs boarded the train.

They are a family, about 10 of them from adults to children.

One of the ladies from the group then walked up to me and said ‘Please move’ and pointed to the next cabin and the rest of the 9 of them just stood around and expected me to move like they are entitled to the seat.

I could understand that they wanted to sit together but couldn’t they just move to the next cabin which was equally empty as mine and find their seats?

Usually if I see people wanting to sit together on the MRT I don’t mind moving a few seats to let them sit together, but this one I really cannot take it.

I eventually moved though because all of them were just standing there looking at me.

When I moved, I observed other commuters on the train looking at them and shaking their heads.

What is worse is they alighted just one stop later at Little India MRT.

Don’t understand why this group of people can be so rude and entitled and there are so many of them in Singapore.

Sure I have seen nice ones before but most of them are the same, rude and entitled from young to old.

Wanted to tell them off and put them in their place but given their behaviour it will probably only get worst.
