Hazy conditions in parts of Singapore this week may have thought to have of feelings haze is coming around the area, however, specialists point to guilty parties nearer to home: industrial facilities and autos.
Air quality researcher Erik Velasco revealed it was not transboundary fog: “The fog-like condition could have been because of the convergence of molecule vapor and neighborhood outflows – from autos and processing plants.”
Typically these particles would scatter alone, however, Dr Velasco said that shady conditions and “not all that much breeze” could have made the region seem murky.
Inhabitants in a few zones, including Pasir Ris, had revealed foggy conditions on Tuesday despite the fact that the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) level was in the direct range at 6pm that day.
