She was rushed to Dongguang Huaxia Eye Hospital the next day, where doctors diagnosed her as suffering from retinal artery occlusion, a painless loss of monocular vision which normally occurs only in elderly people. The effect is non-reversible and results in permanent loss of vision.

The 21 year-old had reportedly been obsessed with the game. She would wake up at 6AM and start gaming till after 4PM. She would then take a nap and then continue until 1 or 2AM.

The doctors who treated her at the hospital warned of excessive fatigue caused to eyes. Damage to eyes can occur from staring at a computer or smartphone screen for hours on end.
