At which point in your life did it hit you that you’re actually getting old?
One minute you’re out playing futsal with your friends till late and having supper till 3am and the next thing you know you can’t even keep yourself awake past 11pm.
Or when you find joy in tidying up your house instead of going out drinking. The random back pains you’d get after sitting in the office chair for 2 hours. Or when you go online on FIFA and non of your friends online cause they’re all busy with their own families and lives.
I’m curious, fellow Singaporeans at which point in time did you realise that you’re actually getting old.
For me, what really hits me most, was when I look at my parents and their wrinkles are showing more than ever.
They can no longer do the things they once did normally without any form of assistance. That’s when I realised I’m getting old and everyone around me is getting old as well. Not to mention the energy levels.
Used to be able to go have dinner with friends or head to the gym after work but I find myself wanting to go home and rest more cause I’m just that tired. Haha.
What about you guys?

- When no one said “my grandma/ grandpa passed” but “my mother/ father passed”. Very sad but true
- Crap I’ve reached the “our classmate passed” stage.
- when the friends you used to hang out with start dying.
when you get tired when you walk up the stairs.
when you worry about retiring. - starting to attend more funerals than weddings.
- difficult to stay awake past midnight let alone throughout the night.
- rather hang out alone at home than going out.
- Last time can 1 whole week everyday go party, get drunk every night then next day do it all over again. Now go drink one time need 5 days to recover. What to do, it comes with aging.
