Naked Man Found Clinging to Aircraft Landing Gear In Philippines Airport

In a startling incident at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in the Philippines, a naked man was discovered clinging to the landing gear of a parked commercial aircraft, raising significant concerns about airport security. The unusual event occurred early on May 6, 2025, around 4 a.m., when a private airline security guard noticed the mud-covered individual embracing the aircraft at Gate 6.

Swift Police Response

Upon being alerted, the Airport Police swiftly apprehended the man without any resistance. He was subsequently taken to Pasay General Hospital for medical and psychological evaluation. The identity of the man remains unknown, and authorities are currently investigating how he managed to breach airport security.

Eric Jose Ines, the General Manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), confirmed that the aircraft had arrived late the previous night and was undergoing routine maintenance checks at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no passengers were on board, and the aircraft was grounded while safety protocols were implemented.

Investigation Underway

The investigation into the security breach is ongoing, with airport officials reviewing CCTV footage to trace the man’s movements and identify his point of entry. Initial assessments suggest that he may have accessed the airside facility through one of the drainage canals surrounding the runway, which would explain his muddy condition when found.

In response to this alarming breach, Lito Alvarez, the General Manager of the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), which operates the airport, has ordered a thorough inspection of all potential access points, particularly along the tarmac. Measures are being taken to reinforce perimeter fencing and enhance security protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This incident is not an isolated case; earlier this year, a young boy was found wandering on an active runway, prompting a brief lockdown and a review of airport access controls. Both MIAA and NNIC are conducting separate but coordinated investigations into the latest breach, with assistance from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines and the Office for Transportation Security.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, airport officials have assured the public that flight operations were not disrupted and continued as scheduled. They emphasized that any individual found guilty of breaching restricted areas could face criminal charges under the Civil Aviation Authority Act and the Revised Penal Code.

As investigations continue, the focus remains on ensuring the safety and security of all airport operations, highlighting the need for vigilance and robust security measures in the aviation sector.Bookmark messageCopy messageExport
