A car owner in Malaysia was left stunned after discovering a dent on his parked vehicle, along with a handwritten apology note and RM100 cash, equivalent to about S$32.
The unusual incident quickly gained attention online after photos of the damaged vehicle were shared on social media platform Threads. Images showed a white sedan with a noticeable dent stretching across the driver’s side door.
While many hit-and-run incidents often end without any trace of the culprit, this case stood out because the driver responsible allegedly chose to leave behind compensation and a personal apology before driving away.
Young Driver Says She Had Little Driving Experience
According to the handwritten note left on the vehicle, the driver claimed she was only 18 years old and lacked driving experience.
The note reportedly read:
“I am very, very sorry. I am an 18-year-old girl, and I don’t have much driving experience.”
She also explained that the RM100 was all the money she had with her at the time of the accident.
The vehicle owner appeared upset over the incident and reportedly criticised the small amount left behind, saying the sight of the damaged car made his “blood boil”.
Despite the frustration, the situation sparked mixed reactions online, with some netizens sympathising with the inexperienced driver while others pointed out that vehicle repair costs in Malaysia can be significantly higher.

Several commenters estimated that repairing the dent and repainting the affected area could cost hundreds of ringgit, especially if multiple body panels required work.
One social media user suggested the total repair bill could easily reach RM800, especially if repainting the entire side of the car became necessary to match the paint finish properly.
Others, however, felt the teenager deserved some credit for at least acknowledging responsibility instead of disappearing without leaving any details behind.
