The incident reportedly took place in Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, and has drawn widespread attention in Thailand following the release of details from local investigations and CCTV footage linked to the case.

According to Thai media reports, the suspect, identified as Vinay, arrived at Bang Bua Thong Police Station with the woman’s body placed in the front passenger seat of his vehicle. Officers later discovered the body covered with a towel inside the car.

Police investigations are ongoing as authorities continue examining evidence, witness statements, and digital communications connected to the case.

COUPLE REPORTEDLY ARGUED OVER SUSPECTED RELATIONSHIP

Investigators said Vinay had been in a relationship with the victim, identified as Joey, for around one year. Reports indicated that tensions had recently developed after the man allegedly suspected that she was involved with another individual.

According to local media accounts, the couple had dinner together on the evening of May 12 in what was reportedly an attempt to reconcile their relationship. They later returned to their apartment, where discussions about the alleged affair continued while both were drinking alcohol.

During the argument, Joey allegedly criticised the suspect regarding his ongoing ties with his ex-wife, which reportedly intensified the confrontation. Vinay later admitted to physically assaulting her during the dispute, allegedly using slaps and kicks. Police stated that no weapon was believed to have been used during the attack.

The suspect reportedly claimed that after the argument, both individuals went to sleep separately during the early hours of May 13.

CCTV FOOTAGE ALLEGEDLY SHOWS BODY BEING MOVED

According to investigators, Vinay left the apartment the next morning for work before returning home later in the day. He allegedly told police that he found Joey unresponsive upon his return and panicked.

Authorities said apartment CCTV footage later captured a man believed to be Vinay carrying Joey’s body from the apartment and placing it into the front passenger seat of his car before driving away.

Police also revealed that the suspect allegedly spent several hours driving around aimlessly with the body inside the vehicle before contacting his ex-wife through a video call. During the call, he reportedly showed her the victim’s face and admitted to assaulting her.

After losing contact with him, the ex-wife reportedly alerted authorities out of concern. The following morning, Vinay allegedly contacted her again and confessed to killing someone. She then urged him to surrender to police immediately.

At around 10am on May 14, the suspect reportedly arrived at the police station and turned himself in.

DIGITAL EVIDENCE AND INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE

Thai authorities stated that investigators recovered chat messages from the suspect’s phone that may be relevant to the case. Some of the messages allegedly involved conversations with the victim’s aunt, who had been searching for Joey after being unable to contact her.

During those exchanges, the suspect reportedly accused Joey of seeing other men and admitted that he had emotionally “lost control”.

The case has reignited public discussion in Thailand surrounding domestic violence, emotional instability, and relationship-related crimes. Authorities have not yet released full details regarding formal charges, though investigations remain active as forensic examinations and interviews continue.

Police are expected to determine the final sequence of events based on CCTV footage, digital evidence, medical reports, and witness testimony.
