The accused, identified as Cai Jia Xin, is now 20 years old but was 18 at the time of the incident in August 2024. She pleaded guilty to one charge of voluntarily causing hurt.

The shocking case involved six youths who allegedly attacked the victim with items including a plastic baseball bat, belts and a hammer during an overnight gathering at the condo.

Victim Assaulted Repeatedly Inside Condo

According to court proceedings reported by Chinese-language media, the assault began after the victim met the group on 10 August 2024.

The victim had contacted one of the girls in the group, saying she missed her ex-boyfriend after their breakup. She was later invited to join the gathering.

However, one of the girls allegedly told the rest of the group that she was unhappy with the victim, leading them to decide to “teach her a lesson”.

After meeting up, the group headed to a condominium near Paya Lebar MRT station, where they planned to spend the night.

Once they arrived near the side entrance of the condo, members of the group suddenly surrounded the victim and began attacking her.

Some punched and kicked the 13-year-old while others stood nearby acting as lookouts.

Baseball Bat, Belt And Hammer Used During Attack

The violence reportedly continued inside the condominium stairwell and later inside the unit itself.

The victim was struck multiple times on her head, abdomen and arms using a plastic baseball bat. She was also whipped across her back with a belt.

Court documents stated that Cai did not initially join the assault but later participated the following morning.

The group allegedly ordered the victim to sit on the floor before continuing the abuse.

Cai reportedly waved a hammer at the victim, with the object grazing the girl’s right arm. She and two others also stepped on the victim’s stomach during the attack.

Despite the prolonged assault, the victim reportedly did not retaliate.

Victim Left Behind At Golden Mile Complex

The next day, the group allegedly went shopping at Haji Lane while leaving the injured victim behind at a stairwell in Golden Mile Complex.

According to reports, the group feared members of the public would notice the girl’s visible injuries if she accompanied them.

The victim later managed to escape and return home, where her father contacted the police.

One of the male suspects, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, had previously pleaded guilty in court in October 2025.

The case has drawn widespread attention online, with many Singaporeans expressing concern over youth violence, bullying and the influence of toxic peer groups among teenagers.
