According to him, the alleged attacker punched him and tore his shirt during the altercation. He also claimed the suspect had consumed “quite a number of cups of alcohol” before the incident happened.

The victim later lodged a police report on March 16.

In response to media queries, the police confirmed that a report had been made and that investigations are currently ongoing.

Incident Sparks Online Discussion

The case has since drawn attention online, with some Singaporeans expressing concern over alcohol-related disputes at neighbourhood coffee shops.

Others sympathised with the victim, noting that food delivery riders often work long hours under stressful conditions while navigating traffic, deadlines and customer demands daily.

Some netizens also questioned whether more should be done to prevent public disturbances involving intoxicated individuals late at night in residential areas.

While the exact circumstances leading up to the alleged assault remain unclear, the incident has once again highlighted concerns over public safety and aggressive behaviour in public spaces across Singapore.
