The emotional appeal was shared on Facebook by well-known Malaysian social activist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang.

According to the post, one of Uncle Kentang’s volunteers visited the grieving husband while arrangements were being made following his wife’s passing.

During the visit, the elderly man reportedly broke down in tears as he spoke about his financial struggles and inability to afford even the most basic funeral arrangements.

“I don’t even have enough money to get a haircut, let alone afford her cremation so she can leave this world with dignity,” he reportedly said.

Husband Repeatedly Apologised To Late Wife

The heartbreaking moment became even more emotional when the man reportedly turned to his late wife, Too Moi, and apologised repeatedly for not being able to give her a proper farewell.

“I’m sorry, my dear wife. I love you. But I am unable to give you a proper funeral. I am truly so sorry,” he said.

According to Uncle Kentang’s post, the elderly man and his son later sought help from the charity organisation in hopes of fulfilling Too Moi’s final journey peacefully.

The family reportedly wishes to have her cremated before scattering her ashes at sea.

However, the funeral expenses remain beyond what they can afford.

The story quickly gained attention online, with many netizens expressing sympathy for the elderly husband and praising him for wanting to honour his wife despite his financial hardship.
