The incident took place at around 4.40pm in the carpark area of Block 202 Bedok North Street 1. According to photos shared online, the black car appeared to have veered off the driveway between Blocks 202 and 203 before mounting a kerb and travelling across a grass verge.

The vehicle subsequently collided with a wall located beside a neighbourhood barber shop. The force of the impact damaged a supporting pillar and dislodged part of the wall structure, leaving debris scattered across the nearby walkway.

Images from the scene also showed significant damage to the front of the vehicle, with the bonnet heavily crumpled from the collision.

Accident Occurred During Busy Evening Period

East Coast GRC Member of Parliament Tan Kiat How said the vehicle had reportedly swerved suddenly before mounting the pavement.

The accident occurred during the evening period when residents would typically be returning home. Fortunately, no pedestrians or other road users were injured during the incident.

Mr Tan noted that the outcome could have been far worse had anyone been walking in the vehicle’s path. He also highlighted that the ongoing school holiday period meant there were fewer children in the area at the time.

Residents who witnessed the incident were reportedly shaken by what happened, but many expressed relief that no serious injuries were recorded apart from the driver.

Driver Taken To Changi General Hospital

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that officers were alerted to the accident at approximately 4.40pm.

Police said the incident involved a car within the carpark of Block 202 Bedok North Street 1. The 69-year-old female driver was taken to hospital while conscious.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are currently ongoing, and the driver is assisting police with inquiries.

Repairs To Damaged Structure Underway

Following the accident, authorities secured the affected area and began assessing the extent of the structural damage.

Mr Tan thanked emergency responders and members of the public who rendered assistance after the crash. He also wished the driver a speedy recovery following her hospitalisation.

Repair works are expected to be carried out as soon as possible to restore the damaged section of the block and ensure the safety of residents using the area.

The incident is the latest in a series of vehicle-related accidents reported across Singapore in recent weeks, renewing discussions about road safety and driver awareness, particularly in residential estates where pedestrian activity is common.
