MAN SUCKED OUT OF PLANE & SURVIVES AFTER WIFE HELD ON TO HIM

Ryanair Passenger Nearly Pulled Out of Plane Window After Mid-Air Incident, Wife Helps Save Him

A Ryanair passenger narrowly escaped a potentially fatal situation after a window on a flight from Greece to Germany reportedly became dislodged during flight, causing a sudden loss of cabin pressure and leaving the man partially outside the aircraft.

The incident occurred on July 10 aboard Ryanair flight FR18799, which was travelling from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany.

According to reports, the aircraft had been airborne for only about 10 minutes when it experienced a sudden emergency that forced the plane to rapidly descend approximately 2,700 metres.

Passengers described scenes of panic as oxygen masks dropped from the ceiling and alarms sounded throughout the cabin.

Wife and Passengers Rush to Help

The passenger at the centre of the incident, a 61-year-old Serbian man, was reportedly seated beside the affected window when the emergency occurred.

Witnesses claimed the sudden decompression caused him to be pulled towards the opening, with his upper body reportedly extending outside the aircraft.

His wife immediately grabbed onto his legs and allegedly held him in place for several minutes while other passengers rushed to assist.

Several travellers later told local media that the man remained secured by his seatbelt, which may have prevented a far more serious outcome.

Passengers eventually managed to pull him fully back into his seat before the aircraft returned to Thessaloniki Airport.

The man was later taken to hospital for treatment of friction burns and other minor injuries.

Medical officials said he remained conscious but was suffering from shock following the ordeal.

Passengers Describe Terrifying Moments

Travellers onboard described hearing a loud bang before cabin pressure rapidly dropped.

Many initially feared the aircraft was experiencing a catastrophic failure.

One passenger said there were screams throughout the cabin as oxygen masks deployed and a strong smell filled the aircraft.

Others reported difficulty breathing during the decompression event and said the aircraft appeared to descend rapidly shortly afterwards.

Several witnesses claimed they believed debris from one of the aircraft’s engines may have struck the window, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Another passenger described seeing blood on the injured man and said he appeared to briefly lose consciousness multiple times during the emergency.

Ryanair and Authorities Launch Investigation

In a statement, Ryanair confirmed the aircraft returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off after a passenger window became dislodged during flight.

The airline said the aircraft landed safely and one passenger received medical assistance after landing.

Ryanair also arranged a replacement aircraft to continue the journey to Germany later the same day.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine exactly what caused the window failure.

Reports indicate the aircraft involved was an 18-year-old jet operated by Malta Air, a subsidiary of Ryanair.

Greek aviation investigators, airport authorities and Ireland’s aviation regulator are reportedly assisting with inquiries.

The findings are expected to determine whether the incident was caused by a mechanical fault, structural failure or another factor.
