So a bit of background: Me and my ex broke up about 6 months ago. It was a relatively clean break—no crazy toxic drama, but we just stopped talking and went our separate ways. Everything was quiet, life was moving on fine, and I was slowly getting my peace back.
Then fast forward to last night (Saturday night around 1:45 AM). Out of nowhere, my phone lights up with a WhatsApp message from her.
The text literally said: “I really miss you… hope you doing well.”
When I saw it, my heart jumped a bit, not gonna lie. I waited like 15 minutes to keep it cool, then replied simple and chill: “Hey, late already, everything okay with you?”
Guess what? No reply. I eventually fell asleep.
Then this morning I wake up to check my phone—boom, suddenly no profile picture, single grey tick on my reply, couldn’t see her WhatsApp status anymore. I try to search her Instagram, account completely missing. Confirm 100% blocked on all fronts.
Now I’m sitting here drinking my Kopi O Kosong at the hawker center, completely lost. What kind of ultimate mind game is this sia? I am narrowing it down to two main theories:
Theory 1: Sibei drunk hangover embarrassment She went out partying at Clarke Quay or Holland V with her friends, drank too much Jinro soju or beer, got emotional at 2 AM, and texted me. Then she woke up at 9 AM with a killer hangover, realized what stupid thing she did, panicked like crazy, and blocked me out of sheer embarrassment so she wouldn’t have to face the music.
Theory 2: New BF caught her red-handed She already has a new guy. They had a massive fight last night, so she texted me out of spite or nostalgia. Then the new BF checked her phone in the morning, saw the sent message, went into max-level jealousy mode, and forced her to delete and block me on the spot to “prove her loyalty.”
