The delay caught a lot of commuters off guard with the display showing an additional 30 minutes to reach your destination.
The issue was known to start Tuesday morning, (22/01/2019), somewhere between 730am – 930am between Woodlands and Yew Tee MRT due to a train fault.. For those who are not following SMRT’s twitter, they do not have immediate knowledge of the current status of the trains.
This has caused some uproar among citizens in Singapore, questioning the recent increase in fares. Some citizens were late for appointments, some could not get information on bus services and some has indicated the flawed design of the train stations when it comes to overcrowding.
As the MRT is vital for Singapore’s point-to-point travelling, what is the best solution to ensure that this does not happen for years to come?
