I am Andrew Ng and my mum is Madam Toh Joo Hong. We are living in Singapore. My mum is suffering from late stage of liver disease (liver cirrhosis). After many consultations at the liver specialist at NUH (National University Hospital) and NUCOT (National University Centre for Organ Transplantation), they concluded that only a suitable liver transplantation could save my mum’s life. Without a suitable transplantation, the doctor estimates that my mum would have less than a year to live.
I have undergone a liver suitability test but unfortunately my liver condition is not safe for the transplantation. My sister and dad have incompatible blood group.
Therefore, I am appealing to all my friends and members of the public for a suitable liver donor. The donor must be good physically and mentally, age between 21-55 years old and with the blood group B+ or O+.
The liver is the only visceral organ that possesses the capacity to regenerate itself. If you know anyone who is willing to be a donor, my family and I will be deeply in debt to you.
