Muhammad Iqbal Mohamed Rafe who has a fetish for underwear entered a HDB flat and stole 10 bras from a bedroom that the homeowner was sleeping in.
Four months later, he did the deed once again on another flat after seeing a bra on a clothes rack inside it. But this time, he was caught when one of the residents of the unit returned.
On Monday (11 May), Iqbal was jailed for nine months after pleading guilty to two counts of trespassing and one count of theft. Another four charges of theft were taken into consideration for his sentencing.Â
On 18 September last year, he enter a mansionette when he realised that the padlock was not secured. He entered the master bedroom and stole 10 bras, $100 in cash and a haversack. A woman was sleeping in that very room when he committed the offence. His intention for stealing the bras was to use them for masturbation.
A medical report from the Institute of Mental Health diagnosed Iqbal with a fetishistic disorder in which he experienced recurrent sexual arousal from the use of women’s undergarments. This manifested in his commission of the offences.
