
According to a media release, a 63-year-old man was fine S$3,500 for drinking with his friends during the circuit breaker.
The accuse has met up with his friend for a beer at a stone bench outside of a supermarket located at Block 74 Whampoa Drive on 3 different occasions. The man was caught by patrolling officer on the 08 May 2020 at 8.50 pm, when he was approached by the officer he pretends not to see them by pulling his mask covering his eyes.
On the day of the incident, he was caught by patrolling officers for gathering and drink with his friends. After being told to pack up and leave, he refused to do so as advised. He even took out his NRIC and challenged the officer to give him a summon.
During his court hearing, the prosecutor state that the accuse did not by the fine that was issued to him for his offence in relation to breaching the circuit breaker measures. The accuse has a past conviction for using abusive language and criminal force against public servants.
The prosecutor has requested the court to fine him S$3,500 and if he did not pay his fine he will be jailed for 1 week by default.
