Netizen were enraged when a Facebook user posted about how delivery riders are poor and stated that only poor people did such menial jobs. We shall call this person Mr Beng. Mr Beng has finally made a police report against Facebook user Jonas Lee as he was the first person to spread Mr Beng’s derogatory post.
He made a police report against Mr Lee for doxxing, harassment and hate speech. Mr Lee then proceeds to refute these allegations in his Facebook post. We will cover the 3 allegations made against Mr Lee and what Mr Lee had to say against these allegations.
1st. “Doxing”. What is doxing? Doxing is Publishing personal information with the intention to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Hmmmmm… that’s strange i didn’t know that me reposting a post that a “anonymous person” have already post. made to the “PUBLIC” is ” PERSONAL INFORMATION”. Looks like to me. When you have already made a post commenting and claiming parcel delivery drivers are for a poor person career path. It doesn’t make it doxxing. Does it ? Its just commenting. And the photos? screenshots ? Those are all your post to the public with your account. So which part of it is private? Please run through a check and get back to me.
2nd. “Harassment” what is harrassment? For this scenario we use the word cyber harrassment. Which definition is continuously sending vicious messages to an individual
Let’s see. The word “continuously”. As i recall i only posted and written the comment “ONCE”. And vicious messages ? So giving you advices on your attire, hair and your “OFFENDING COMMENTS” to the public is vicious ? Hmmm Not so much of a Harrassment case here i see. Please learn the word and definition before executing your actions and your report.
3rd. “Hate speech” which is also refers to prohibits seditious acts and speech. Lets see what does seditious means shall we.
The definition of Seditious means inciting or causing people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.
This is just too straightforward and direct. Even a 10 year old child will understand the definition. Is this “anonymous person” a government official? A leader? or member of any of the political party in singapore that I’m unaware of ? Or representing any government sector ? Did i start a rebel alliance against the government with comments like this ? Or did i make any threats to the authority?
