According to a media release, the authorities have urged Singaporeans to be prepared for a possible second wave of COID-19 infections.
This is due to the resurgence of COVID-19 infections in several countries and Singapore must remain cautious.
According to Minister of Health Mr Gan Kim Yong, the following countries have seen a spike in COVID-19 cases after re-opening.
These countries are:
- Australia
- South Korea
- Japan
- Hong Kong
After they have eased more restriction, more cases have emerged with clusters coming from the following venues:
- Place of Worship
- Night Clubs
- Restaurants
- Schools
Learning from what is happening around us, Singapore has taken a much caution approach when re-opening of certain places.
At the same time, the authorities have implemented more safety measures in workplaces to ensure the safety of the workers.
The authorities have been actively monitoring the situation in Singapore to keep the infections rate as low as possible. However, symptomatic unlinked cases are of concern to authorities as if it the number continue to increase, Singapore may enter into the second wave of the infection.
With that said, the authorities are confident that Singapore is able to beat the virus if everybody plays their part.
