The Ministry of Education (MOE) said earlier today (July 23) that “it is now timely to safely resume other important aspects of school life to support holistic student development”.
As such, Secondary schools, junior colleges and Millenia Institute will have the option to resume lower-risk co-curricular activities (CCAs) from July 27 onwards.
Allowance for primary schools will be reviewed after MOE has assessed how the resumption works out for the older students.
MOE added that students have adjusted well to the safe management measures that are in place.
The guidelines for resumption of CCA are as follows:
- Maximum of 20 students.
- Composition of participants to be fixed to minimise contact.
- Groups of five or fewer can interact more closely.
- Modified game rules, students to remain 1m apart.
- Visitors including coaches and instructors to be screened for flu-like symptoms.
The CCAs that will remain suspended include those involving high level of bodily contact, such as Judo sparring and etcetera.
MOE added that they will continue to monitor the situation closely and review their plans accordingly.
