
According to a media release, The Foreign Minister of Singapore and Malaysia has held a short meeting at the halfway mark of the causeway which links the two countries. The meeting took place this morning (26 Jul) and the causeway was closed between 8 AM to 10.30 AM for this meeting.

The informal meeting was kept short and the topic discussed will be on the progression in regards to issue such as RTS and reopening of the border.

Earlier last week, in a joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of the both countries, both government agreement on the implementation of the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA) starting from 10 Aug 2020.

Both RGL and PCA will allow citizens of both countries to travel between the causeway for work purposes only.
The agreement of the Singapore-Johor Baru Rapid Transit System was also signed at the causeway on 30 Jul 2020 under the witness of the prime ministers of both countries.
