FORMER N’TIONAL LIBRARY BOARD MANAGER GUILTY FOR TAKING $518,000 IN BRIBES

Former NLB Manager Ivan Koh Siong Wee pleaded guilty on Tuesday (Aug 4) after taking $581,000 in bribes over four year.

Koh who used to be a manager took bribes from a former employee Low Pok Koen whose three firms supplied millions of dollars of digital resources such as electronic books to NLB.

The three companies which were set up by Low provided digital content to the NLB. 30 percent of the profits earned from the various contracts were shared with Koh as gratification.

For each charge of corruption, the men face up to five years’ jail, a fine of up to S$100,000, or both.
