A woman shared her thoughts after she moved out of her parent’s place moving into HDB flat. She feels that living in a HDB flat makes her feel like she is in a prison cell with zero privacy.

Here is the full story:

“From bungalow to 4 room HDB.

From my own driveway to HDB carpark.

From my own balcony to….not even a full-length window. And the next block is so close I can see what they are watching on tv.

From my own garden to put my plants in the staircase landing, because the corridor is all taken up by the neighbour plants.

From my own treadmill & exercise bike to not being able to fit even my gym ball in the living room.

From my own swimming pool to…the public pool 15mins drive away.

From my own kitchen island & bar counter to barely enough space for plates after installing the stove.

From my own private compound to sharing lifts with strangers, deliverymen, screaming children. Once there was even urine on the floor! Another time someone spilt coffee.

From first-class to the economy.

I don’t mean to be mean. But everything is so cramped!! Feels like I’m in a prison cell. And there’s zero privacy! People along the corridor can actually see into the kitchen. He assured me I would adapt. I assured myself too. I’m not downgrading, I told myself. I’m just moving into my love nest with the man I love. Space limitations, lack of privacy won’t matter.

Now I know what it feels like to move from one extreme to the other. From heaven to earth. I’m not sure I can do this. Mom and Dad can i move back pleaseeeeee
