39 Y.O ARRESTED FOR LOANSHARK ACTIVITIES @ NEW UPPER CHANGI RD

A 39-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in loanshark activities. The man was charged earlier today (12 Sep 2020).

Apparently, the man had splashed red paint at a HDB unit located at New Upper Changi Road. He had also left a debtor note on the wall beside the unit. The police were alerted about the incident on 28 Aug 2020.

After investigations, the police identified their suspect with the aid of the CCTV and arrested the man.

According to the law, anyone convicted for their involvement in loanshark activities could face a jail term up to 5 years, fined up to $50,000 with maximum 12 strokes of the cane.
