HWZ user HushiePuppies recently shared on how his HR colleague shared the reason on why locals are losing their jobs to foreigners.

Here is the full story.

Recently, intro my friend to my company for a middle management job. In the end, he wasn’t shortlisted so I went to ask my HR colleague how come he wasn’t shortlisted. She tell me because even though he has some experience, he lacks formal certification which is very important for him to work in projects.

Meanwhile, I go linkedin see the new ft who was hired, as usual got the PMP® Certification.

Many sinkies lose out because on one hand some gahmen related organisations pushing for more standards and certifications (esp if you go gebiz see some of the standards will faint one), on the other hand many sinkies don’t have the related certifications. So all lose out to FTs.

I suggest that gahmen should incorporate all these certs into our o-levels. Make sure all sinkie before come out of o-levels must have at least one of the following certs:

  2. BVOP Certified Project Manager
  3. Certified Project Management Practitioner (CPMP)
  4. Certified Project Manager (CPM)
  5. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  6. CompTIA Project+
  7. Master Project Manager (MPM)
  8. PRINCE2 Foundation/PRINCE2 Practitioner
  9. Professional in Project Management (PPM)
  10. Project Management in IT Security (PMITS)

Finance

  1. Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) certification
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
  3. Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®) designation
  4. Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation
  5. Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) certification
  6. Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)® certification
