11 PEOPLE FINE FOR $25,200 FOR UNLAWFUL GATHERING DURING CB

11 men were fined for a total of $25,200 after they are found guilty of unlawful gathering during the circuit breaker period.

Under the COVID-19 Temporary Act, members of the public were banned from leaving home without a valid reason. Meeting up with other people living in a different household for social purposes is also prohibited.

People fined:

  • Alex Teo Han Yuan, 27 ($3,000)
  • Teo Wee Liang, 27 ($2,700)
  • Zane Lucas Quek, 27 ($2,500)
  • Joey Seng Koon Hwee, 32 ($2,500)
  • Nicholas Tan Zhi Qin, 34 ($2,500)
  • Darren Ho Shu Qiang, 23 ($2,000)
  • Neo Hwee Siang, 24 ($2,000)
  • Ryan Tan Jia Wei, 25 ($2,000)
  • Jeffrey Foo Chek Suan, 28 ($2,000)
  • Lim Cheng Yao, 29 ($2,000)
  • Winston Lee Wei Zheng, 35 ($2,000)  

The incident happened on the 17 May 2020, the police were alerted after a resident complained about the unlawful gathering. According to the law, anyone convicted of any offence under the Temporary COVID-19 act could be jail for up to 6 months or fine up to $10,000 or both. For repeated offenders, the punishment will be doubled.
