34 Y.O ARRESTED AFTER BREAKING INTO BUNGALOW AT LOYANG

The Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking.

On 28 September 2020 at about 9am, the Police were alerted to a case whereby a unit along Loyang Rise was alleged to have been broken into. Nothing was reported missing.

Through investigations and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day.

The man will be charged in court on 30 September 2020 with housebreaking under Section 448 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or both.

The Police would like to advises the following to all property owners:

  • Secure all doors, windows and other openings with good quality grilles and padlocks when leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while;

  • Refrain from keeping large sums of cash in any premises; and

  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor light and/or close circuit surveillance camera to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and in good working condition.
