A man recently shared a story of his friend who actually lied to his girlfriend that he had actually tried to apply for a BTO flat just to keep her near for s*x as he did not even plan on marrying her.
He dated her for 3 years than she ask him to get married. He say let us bid for bto 1st, 6 months before we collect the key than we ROM, because i don’t want us to continue staying with my parents for a few years while waiting for our hdb to be ready as my parents are nasty and they don’t like you. You will have a miserable life if you stay with them.
Everytime she ask on how is the bidding outcome he just say its rejected. 1 year later she become suspicious say couples should be easy to get a BTO how come it keep getting rejected. He say he will go find MP to appeal but he never do it. A few months later he say MP gave him a letter and informed him that HDB already looked into his case but there wasn’t any units for him.
The gf got suspicious and called hdb to check. Then she found out he did not submit any BTO application for the past 2 years at all. This is their conversation before they break up.
She: why you lie to me. You don’t like me or you are dating other girls?
He: i like you very much but i cannot marry you. If you divorce me you will use Women’s Chartered to pawn me. Don’t blame me. Blame the government for it. Anyway, you also know i don’t want to have kids. So if you really love me, we can forever be in a relationship. We can each buy our own resale hdb, rent out 1 unit and we stay together in the other unit.
She rejected it and break up with him.
