MAN SLASHES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OVER SMOKING OFFENCE

Vikneswaran Sivan, 30, was charged earlier today (11 Nov) with one count of assault after being involved in a slashing incident that happened at Block 503C Canberra Link on Monday evening (09 Nov).

It was reported that Vikneswaran was caught for a smoking offence by the enforcement officer before he attacked the officer with a sickle. Vikneswaran was later arrested by the police within seven hours after the incident.

He is currently out on bail of $15,000 and his case was adjourned to 09 Dec 2020.

According to the law, if convicted, Vikneswaran could face a jail term up to 7 years for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
