According to the court documents, the couple has been dating since 2016 and things changed after the woman was caught cheating several times. Over time, the man has forgiven his ex-girlfriend multiple times. However, things did not change and she still continues to cheat on the man.

The man then suggested to break up with the woman but end up staying with her again after she begged him not to end the relationship. However, things did not turn out well as the woman acted cold towards the man which makes him suspect that the woman was cheating on him again.

On 14 Dec 2018, the man drove to the woman’s residents at Ang Mo Kio wanting to confront her on her behaviour. During the confrontation, the man demanded to check on the woman’s phone but was refused.

Taken over by his emotions, the man decided to snatch the phone of his ex-girlfriend and found that she was texting different guys asking for sex. He then ran back to his car wanting to take photos of all the conversations. The woman wanted to stop the man but couldn’t. She then held on to the door handle where the man tried to drive off but ends up dragging the woman for 200m before she lost grip and fell.

During the court hearing, the prosecutor asked for the man to be jailed for six weeks while the defence lawyer asked for two.

The defence lawyer then argued that the injuries caused by his client were not serious and the act was committed out of spur. In the end, the judge imposed a custodial sentence of 3 weeks more time are needed to look into a similar case.

For his offence of causing hurt to others by a rash act, the man could be jailed for up to 1 year, fined up to $5,000 or both.
