INFLUENCER WITH 57K FOLLOWERS AMONG FEW INVESTIGATED FOR FLOUTING SAFETY MEASURES

On Sunday (15 Nov), videos of a group of at least 6 women and 1 man were circulating on social media. It was believed that the gathering was held to celebrate the pregnancy of one of the women.

Videos of these women were uploaded by themselves showing that they were engaging in a pillow fight. During the pandemic, gathering more than 5 is currently not allowed. The Singapore Tourism Board was aware of the incident and investigations against the group of people and the hotel are ongoing.

It was reported that these group of people that appeared were influencers as one of the women was said to have 57,000 followers on Instagram. All posts have been removed from their Instagram accounts.

According to the law, anyone found guilty of breaching the safety measures could be jailed up to 6 months, fine up to $10,000 or both. The penalty for repeat offenders will double if they were caught again.
