
According to a media release, 52 people were investigated by the authorities for breaching the safe-distancing measures.
The police were alerted to a case of a large gathering that had happened in a unit of Sin Ming industrial building at the wee hours of 09 Jan 2021. 27 men and 13 women were present when the police arrived. They were said to be drinking, singing and smoking at that time. On 17 Jan 2021, the police were alerted to another gathering that happened at the same unit. 7 men and 6 women were drinking at the unit.
A 24-year-old man who believed to be the operator of the unit was also investigated under the offence of providing public entertainment and supplying liquor without a valid license.
If convicted, he could be fine up to $20,000. For those who were found breaching the safe-distancing measures could be jailed for up to 6 months, fine up to $10,000 or both.
