A Singaporean recently posted on the HWZ forum stated recently that Singaporeans are still very low class due to our 3rd World behaviour and mentality. He went on to say that even after many years, Singaporeans still act like barbarians.

If you visit a place like Japan, the buildings can look old on the outside but the amenities inside are quite clean and well maintained.
SG is the exact opposite. On the outside our buildings are shiny and new, but if you have to visit a public toilet for eg, you will see all sorts of 3rd world behaviour like pee splatter on the floor and sai splatter on the toilet seat. The tray return issue is well known and needs no elaboration.
JPN service staff are very on the ball and attentive even though their pay also not high. SG staff very ai mai, can sit one corner play hp or eating snacks, take their own sweet time.
Before you guys start blaming FTs, this type of 3rd world behaviour pre-dates the FT influx.
Best part is the way Singkies treat those lesser than them. Some maids not allowed to use home toilet, must bathe at condo swimming pool toilet. Others not allowed to use condo facilities for r&r. Sleeping area at home is the stuffy “utility” room next to the washing machine.
SG has been independent for 50+ years liao which is about 2 generations. After so long still behave like barbarians.
