MAN ALLEGEDLY DROVE OFF DURING POLICE CHECK, DRAGGED THE POLICEMAN ALONG

The Singapore police said in a statement that a 31-year-old man was arrested on Saturday (27 March) for allegedly driving off during a traffic police check and dragging an officer along with his moving vehicle.

The incident reportedly happened at 7.30am, along the CTE towards the AYE, before the Balestier Road Exit.

The police said:

“During the checks, the driver allegedly drove off suddenly and dragged the traffic police officer along with the moving vehicle for a distance.”

The traffic policeman suffered multiple injuries and was coveyed to the hospital, where he received treatment and is stable condition.

The vehicle was later found abandoned along Towner Road.

The driver was arrested for causing grievous hurt and also for traffic and drug related offences.

At the time of writing, police investigations are still ongoing, and the guy will be charged on Monday.
