A woman who was accused by a motorcyclist of stealing his “3-year-old smelly helmet”, has since come out to clarify that it was a misunderstanding and a mistake.
She shared that she was visiting a friend at a condo located at Telok Kurau, and that her friend told her to pick up his helmet from the parking lot out of convenience.
She claims that she took the helmet from a motorcycle that she thought was her friend’s motorbike after checking the license plate.
But as it turns out, she took the helmet by mistake.
Realized mistake, tried to return helmet
She later found out that she took the wrong helmet when she met her friend, and so she returned to the parking lot within 30 minutes to return the helmet.
However, she forgot which motorbike she took the helmet from; so instead, she placed it on the ground.
The woman shared that she was notified by her friend that she was labeled as a “helmet thief” online, after the helmet’s owner posted footage of her taking the helmet from his motorbike on Facebook.
She then contacted the owner to clarify the situation and the owner agreed to take down the post after 2 days of alleged explanations.
She has since made a police report and engaged a lawyer, allegedly planning to sue and looking to resolve the incident via legal actions.
