He was reportedly buying water past the curfew’s timing of 6pm at the city of General Trias, Cavite province.

General Trias is currently under a curfew that lasts from 6pm to 5am.

Peñaredondo was allegedly spotted by the police and brought to the front of the city’s municipal hall, where he was forced to do 300 squats.

His sister said that he was unable to move his body the following day due to fatigue brought on by the punishment and he had issues walking.

Police denied arresting him

Celero said:

“Upon our investigation, we found out that one Darren Peñaredondo was arrested not by policemen but by barangay tanod (watchmen) in Barangay Tejero on Thursday night.”
